During the TEASIMED project, Med-TSO developed the first probabilistic power system adequacy assessments in the Mediterranean region. In particular:

• Two Seasonal Adequacy Assessments — Summer Outlook 2022 and Winter Outlook 2022/2023 — with the objective of monitoring or testing if, up to six months ahead, the expected available supply and transmission capacities are enough to cover demand under various conditions.
• Mid-term outlook for 2025 and 2027, expanding the forecast period to 5-10 years ahead. The publication of this document is expected in February 2023.

Med-TSO’s members acknowledged that a Mediterranean Adequacy Assessment could be a useful tool to provide all TSOs and relevant stakeholders with comprehensive support to take balanced and consistent decisions about the level of adequacy of their power system.
