TEASIMED Project Roadshow

On Thursday 11 May EETC organized a roadshow in Cairo focused on the just concluded TEASIMED Project, with the aim to briefly present the outcomes of TEASIMED to the regional stakeholders and its impact in the Southeastern Mediterranean Region.

Mr. Gaber Desouki Moustafa, Chairman of Egyptian Electricity Holding Company, and Mr. Khaled Abd El-Kreem, Member of the Board of Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company, opened the meeting with a detailed presentation of the main outcomes of the project. Then, the event focused on Egypt, reporting on the envisaged interconnections of the country with Europe and the other MENA countries, the main outcomes of the seasonal outlooks and mid-term adequacy studies and the roadmap to implement a pilot project for launching an East Med Interconnected Electricity Exchange Zone, proposed by Med-TSO to increase electricity trading in the region.

The event was concluded with an insight on the recently started TEASIMED 2 Project, another project co-funded by the European Union, that will commit Med-TSO until December 2025.
