President Sabah Mashaly’s new role as Egypt’s Deputy Minister of Electricity

After the recent appointment of our esteemed President, Sabah Mashaly, as Egypt’s new Deputy Minister of Electricity and Energy, we are pleased to confirm that she will continue to represent EETC in our General Assembly and act as President of Med-TSO.

Her roles as Deputy Minister and Med-TSO President will undoubtedly facilitate greater synergies and strategic initiatives aimed at improving the region’s electricity infrastructure and promoting sustainable energy solutions. Her leadership will continue to be a driving force in advancing our shared goals of energy transition and regional integration.

Sabah Mashaly’s appointment is historic, marking her as the first woman to hold the Deputy Minister of Electricity position in Egypt. This recognition is a testament to her leadership and approach to the energy sector, building on her pioneering role as the first woman to lead the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company in January 2019.

At Med-TSO, we value Sabah Mashaly’s leadership and vision, which have been instrumental in driving our mission to enhance the integration and resilience of power systems across the Mediterranean, aiming at strengthening the technical interoperability of Mediterranean Power Systems, promoting regional energy cooperation and knowledge sharing.
