Objective:

To promote the development of an integrated Mediterranean Power System, by identifying tools and means capable to increase the electricity exchanges among the countries in the Med-TSO area.

Approach:

Med-TSO Technical Committee 03 (TC03), “International Electricity Exchanges”, is in charge of this task . The activity focuses on methodologies, procedures and mechanisms for sharing resources through cross border exchanges, based on the national power system complementarities (existing and expected), and the optimized use of resources allowed by the interconnections.

TC03 is supported by WG ESS for the definition of shared CBA methodologies, cost evaluation and interconnection capacity allocation mechanisms.

The activity is based on the assessment of the regional cross border exchanges potential developments, proposing a set of cross-border exchange procedures for demand/offer matching, operational rules of interconnections, data and information exchanges requirements, identification of measures and incentives for covering risks (risks assessment and allocation).
