This map is a comprehensive illustration of the transmission system network operated by members of the Association of the Mediterranean Transmission System Operators, and it has been developed in cooperation with the European Network of Transmission System Operators (ENTSO-E).
This map provides an exhaustive overview of the transmission system network operated by Med-TSO and ENTSO-E members, showcasing almost 500.000 km of high-voltage lines across the Mediterranean region and it is the first of its genre to give a comprehensive picture of the status of the electric interconnections within the Mediterranean region, an area that groups three different synchronous zones:

• ENTSO-E’s Continental Europe zone
• Southwestern Mediterranean Block
• Southeastern Mediterranean Block

It also includes, for the first time, six interconnection projects among those studied by Med-TSO in the Mediterranean Masterplan of Interconnections 2022, considered as the most mature, in addition to lines and key generation stations over 100 MW capacity, reflecting regional grid characteristics.
