33rd General Assembly in Nicosia, Cyprus

Yesterday 13 may, Med-TSO convened the 33rd General Assembly of the Association in Nicosia, hosted by the Transmission System Operator Cyprus.

Among key financial, operational, and strategic initiatives for the association, the Assembly also marked the official administrative closure of the TEASIMED 2 Project, with a review of the Final Report following the completion of early 2026 dissemination activities, such as the project Closing Conference in Brussels and the Roadshow in Marrakesh, as well as the “Med-TSO e-highway” webinar.

Concurrently, updates were provided on the new TEASIMED 3 Project, launched in January 2026. The agenda called for the formal approval of the Knowledge Sharing Program, building upon a meeting of technical committee held in Madrid on March 31, to outline a unified procedure for the preparation, management, and follow-up of events within the Med-TSO association framework.

The Assembly was also called to discuss a proposal to establish the Eastern Mediterranean Ad-Hoc Group initiative, aiming at facilitating the dialogue and support with the regional Transmission System Operators, including the Syrian one, also looking to a potential future new membership.

As usual, the General Assembly is always the testament of the renewed commitment of the members of the Association towards the integration and resilience of the Mediterranean power systems.
