Med-TSO has recently updated the Power Statistics Platform, a tool designed to provide fast and easy access to consolidated electricity data from all 20 Med-TSO member countries. Since its launch, the platform has been collecting data and empowering stakeholders with historical insights and interactive tools.
The platform is the first in the Mediterranean region to consolidate power system data from both EU and non-EU countries, extending beyond ENTSO-E membership. Users can explore historical data dating back to 2018 through interactive graphics, enabling effortless navigation between years and energy sources.
In addition, the platform provides detailed TSO data—including net generating capacity, annual generation, electricity demand, line length, transformer capacity, and other key performance indicators—and features an interactive map of the Mediterranean, showing interconnections and physical energy flows in GWh exchanged between countries.
A key section of the platform is the Statistical Factsheet, which offers consolidated values of electricity demand, installed capacity, and generation across the Mediterranean. The latest edition captures regional and country-specific trends and highlights the role of different technologies in meeting the region’s energy needs.
These achievements reflect the joint efforts of the Technical Committee Operation and the Med-TSO Secretariat, whose close collaboration has been instrumental in bringing the platform to its current level of maturity.
