Mediterranean Project Technical Committees meetings in Rome

Joint Workshop, Feb 10th

Med-TSO Technical Committees (TC) 2 “Regulations and Institutions” and 3 “International Electricity Exchanges” have held their first 2016 meetings in Rome from 9 to 11 February.
TC 2 meeting, chaired by Juan Francisco Alonso (REE), opened the three-day meetings session on February 9th, having as main topic the finalization of the Starting Regulatory Framework in the different power systems around the Mediterranean region. This document is based on a survey performed in the last months among Med-TSO countries. It will be submitted to the EC, in the frame of the Mediterranean Project supported by the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR).
The meeting of TC 3, chaired by Rabah Touileb (SONELGAZ) was held on February 11, dealing with the evaluation of the potential of cross border electricity exchanges in Med-TSO interconnections.
Furthermore, TC 2 and TC 3 held a joint workshop on February 10th, having as main subject System Operation and System Market issues.
Thirty-four participants from thirteen Mediterranean TSOs participated in these meetings, as a clear and visible sign of the ongoing success for our Mediterranean Project.
