Med-TSO Technical Committees meetings conclude after three days of intense and productive work

Med-TSO Technical Committees (TC) 1, 2 and 3 as well as the Regional Working Group West, concluded their meetings on Thursday, 5 November 2015, after three days of intensive and highly productive work. In this occasion, for the first time,a joint workshop between two Technical Committees (TC2 and TC3) was successfully held.  

In the TC1 meeting, chaired by Carlo Sabelli (TERNA) the work done so far about planning methodologies and procedures was presented and discussed.  TC2 and TC3 meetings, chaired respectively by Juan Francisco Alonso (REE) and Rabah Touileb (SONELGAZ), as well as the joint workshop, dealt about the state of the art of the regulatory framework and the rules and procedures of management of interconnections.

The Regional Working Group West, chaired by Taoufik Laabi (ONEE), focused its work on the data collection.

Forty-eight participants from twelve Mediterranean TSOs took part in the meetings. Since the beginning of the Mediterranean Project in February 2015, the number of participants to the meetings has constantly increased. The Mediterranean Project is financed by the European Commission.

The next meetings of the Association are the Strategic Orientation Committee (SOC) in Amman on November 18th, chaired by Hervé Laffaye (RTE), the 5th meeting of the Ad Hoc Working Group in Rome on November 30th and the Executive Board meeting and the General Assembly in Casablanca on December 16th and 17th.
